Important notices

Right of complaint

Justified complaints regarding single lots must be received by the auctioneer within 14 days of receipt of the lots. If you wish to have an item examined by a BPP expert, this requires notification and approval by the auctioneer. In such cases, the complaint period will be extended accordingly until the expert opinion is received. Other experts outside the BPP will only be accepted if this examination has been previously agreed with us. Even in this case, the lots must still be paid for within the due period.
Condition-based reservations for single lots require notification and approval by the auctioneer. Any subsequent examinations must be carried out by the buyer and at their own expense! In the event of forgery or falsification, we will reimburse the cost of a BPP expert. To ensure prompt processing, please be sure to present the lots to the expert on our original lot cards.
Complained single lots must be returned with the original, unchanged, and unmarked lot card; otherwise, a return is not possible. Please request approval shipments if necessary. Please also check your auction order to ensure you have noted the correct lot numbers. Complaints due to mistakenly noted lot numbers are excluded. Likewise, the cancellation of bids once submitted is not possible under any circumstances! Collection lots cannot be complained about under any conditions. Written bidders also purchase "as viewed." Furthermore, lots that were paid for late cannot be subject to complaint.
Please note: Particularly valuable stamps and letters have been sealed for protection. Mint condition lots will only be accepted for return with intact sealing, although naturally, the seal may be opened by a BPP expert for the purpose of examination.

Information and copies

We are happy to provide copies of single lots and collection lots at a cost of €0.30 per black-and-white copy and €1.20 per color copy (inkjet print), plus €1.60 for postage. Scans by email: the first four pages are free, after that €0.30 per page. Please plan accordingly and include sufficient stamps or banknotes with your copy request. Any overpaid amounts will be refunded. Please note that copies or scans of box lots are not possible. We are happy to provide information by telephone; however, not for extensive collection lots, "dig boxes," and similar items. Furthermore, we cannot provide telephone information or copies for "bid-only" lots.

Delivery of the lots

As before, the lots will be sent to customers known to us personally or customers with first-class references ‘on account’, new customers without good references only against advance payment. All lots will be dispatched as quickly as possible. As a rule, auctioned lots/advance invoices should be sent to you directly in the week following the auction. We therefore ask for your understanding that with the best will in the world it is not possible for us to fulfil special franking requests. Please note that, for special reasons, we may make the delivery of the goods dependent on the presentation of bank references or the provision of securities, even in the case of existing customer relations.

Payment of the auction invoice

All invoices are due for payment within three days of receipt. This applies in particular in the event that you have received the lots ‘on account’. Payment can only be made in Euro currency, but not in the form of nominal value for offsetting or foreign currency. Payment terms must be agreed in advance! Please transfer free of charge (SEPA). Payments within the EU must be made by bank transfer; for payments from customers outside the EU, the costs incurred by the banks involved for the payment must be borne by the customer. Alternatively, payments can also be made for customers from non-EU countries via ‘Philapay/Philasearch’, for which a fee of 4% of the invoice amount will be charged. Please do not send us any cheques, but make a bank transfer free of charge.

Shipping cost

The shipping costs include not only the usual postage, but also additional services such as packaging (envelopes, cardboard packaging, etc.), the labour time spent on packaging and the private insurance of the postal item. Due to the computer programme, the minimum postage costs are Euro 5.49 for registered mail and Euro 7.92 for parcels (statistical average of postage costs), and an average of Euro 21.42 for international customers. We ask you to take this into account, especially for smaller lots. We ask for your understanding that the majority of lots, including single lots, are sent by parcel post in order to keep insurance and postage costs within reasonable limits.

Written orders

Written orders must be received by us no later than one day before the respective auction, fax and email by 6.00 pm. Bids arriving later can unfortunately only be considered for the post-auction sale. Bids will be carried out strictly in the interest of the buyer. You will receive the lots at the starting price if there is no opposing bidder, otherwise one increment above the next lowest bid (increments: approx. 5 to 10%, non-binding depending on the situation). We vouch for this! Bid lots will be knocked down at the highest bid. ‘Bid’ lots must always be inspected. Writing down unrealistic bids only creates unnecessary work for you and us. ‘Bid’ lots will be knocked down at the highest bid from Euro 10. Bids cannot be cancelled once they have been placed. Underbids will only be accepted up to 10% below the starting price. You can bid by telephone from Euro 600 per lot. Please use the corresponding paragraph on the auction order.

An important hint

Experience has shown that the demand for lots in certain price categories (up to approx. EUR 250) from popular countries is very high and many lots are therefore bid on many times, but can only be sold once. We recommend: Please bid on as many lots as possible and limit the purchase price. You can also place alternative bids, specify the order, etc. This increases your chances of buying immensely! It is not always possible to adhere to a specific order or to take into account every limit bid due to the pre-auction registration process, and lots against ‘bid’ cannot be included in the total limit.

Consignments on approval

Consignments on approval will be sent willingly against reimbursement of costs. We ask customers unknown to us to provide references. Consignments on approval must be returned within 24 hours of receipt. We ask you to ensure that the consignment is returned as quickly as possible, as other interested parties often request the lots for inspection. Our expenses must be enclosed with the return in valid stamps, please do not transfer them. Please ensure that this is the case.

Keyword search

As a special service, we offer you the option of having all the lots in this auction searched for your keyword using our computer programme, e.g. ‘registered mail’, ‘Munich’ etc. Keyword and stamped envelope are sufficient.
